Thurday, May 27, 2010 Last Day Of Class :( Entry 7:
Along with the handouts and resources Mr. Steve has made available to us, I will take the knowledge I have learned during this course to expose teachers and other parapros by showing the materials and giving them assess to the resources if needed. I know once I begin to share my experience, I will want to visual show examples. I can also utilize the resources by engaging in lesson planning and appyling ideas from this course. For example, if I know there is a struggling reader, Audacity will be a great tool. I could record myself reading the book and the struggling reader will have a reference to refer to and hear the audio.

Entry 6:
Funny that entry 6's subject is technology in the classroom. My blog we created today is surrounded around this! There should not be anymore technology in the classroom. The resources that classrooms are utilizing now are great. SMART board and SMART responce are great technology tools used in the classroom. These tools have already replaced the functions of taking test and quizzes on paper, visually seeing lessons in different formats, and the actual process of how lesson are taught. Along with all other situations, there will probely be a statics that comes out surrounding too much technology or not enough technology is affecting our students. In my opinion, regardless of the increase or decrease in technology educators need to reach all there students by all aspects of teaching. Technology does benefit more, however if there is an increase in technolgy wouldn't that affect the skills of students not capable to fully utilize technology? The decussion of this could go on and on!!
Entry 5:Some areas that I can improve upon in technology, are strengthing my skills with other problems on the PC besides the normal programs used, understanding the process of setting up technology, and utilizing technology in multiple ways. Usually if there needs to be something set up, I have to receive assistants. For example, the SMART responce remotes, I'm not familar with how to set up a class with remotes or collect data from the responces. SMART responce remotes are a great tool, however taking advantage of this course, I've learned how to set up a SMART responce quiz/test.

Entry 4: Receiving the SMART Docs document was really helpful. Not only will the document assit with preparing the lessons, I gained more knowledge on how to utilize the interactive features. Since the SMART broad is designed to have as much interaction as possible, having that knowledge is essential. Google Earth is also a great figured we touched on today! For higher grade levels Google Earth will further the students' deminsions for area views, maps, and etc. I've still not grown found of Renzulli. I don't quite think Renzulli is for younger students due to the questions asked to form the students' profile. Renzulli would benefit higher grade levels in my opinion. This class has furthered my knowledge, and that it's self will benefit the students!
Entry 3: On my SMARTBOARD project I have to finish creating the activities and adding details. I will like to incorporate a video from DiscoverEd.com. Before class was over yesterday, I viewed a great silent e video. I will use one of the methods Mr. Piazza demonstrated yesterday. Mr. Piazza linked videos onto shapes, numbers, etc. I also need to find some more words with silent e. That won't be hard to do, however finding those words will also assist with completing my project.

Entry 2: I enjoyd creating a WIKI. I recall seeing WIKI on the net prior to today, and didn't know what a WIKI was. Now that I have gained knowledge on WIKIs, I will be able to create WIKIs that can assist and involve co-workers, family, friends, and etc. Another figured that I like about the WIKI, is the ability to create the WIKI for personal use. Basically I'm in control of the formation, where in comparsion if I was associated with a website related to a WIKI topic I'd created, there could be information I'm not intrested in at the moment!Entry 2:
Entry 1: I hope to gain more knowledge on the different areas we will cover through technology. Getting more familarized with this WIKI program will be nice too. I didn't realize how awesome of a program it is! I want to utilize the skills learned during this cousre and incorporate them into my daily work schedule as much as possible.
